Introduction
This year the Barry “Spook” Stang Memorial Scholarship Committee will select recipients for scholarships intended for students entering a four‑year Montana college, university, trade school, or other accredited educational program. Children of individuals working in our industry are especially encouraged to apply. Academic performance is considered in the selection process but is not the sole determining factor. Individual award amounts will be set by the Scholarship Trustees at the time winners are chosen.

In 2026 Montana Silversmiths marks the 21st Anniversary of the Pursuit of Excellence Scholarship. Since launching in 2005, this program has awarded more than $150,000 to students who reflect the spirit of the West: resilience, integrity, and a continual drive to improve.

The Pursuit of Excellence Scholarship is open to high school seniors and current college students who are enrolled in an accredited post-secondary program, including:
