Trey Porter Law, a Texas-based criminal and DWI defense practice, offers the annual Trey Porter Law Scholarship in the amount of $1,000.00.
About Mr. Porter
Mr. Trey Porter attended Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He began his studies in the Communications Department with the intention of pursuing a career in journalism. After changing majors several times, he ultimately earned a degree in Political Science. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Porter worked in the restaurant industry, sales, and taught English.
Purpose
Recognizing that career paths and passions can shift over time, this scholarship is available to students from any discipline who are currently enrolled at a college or university.
Eligibility
- Open to students enrolled at accredited colleges or universities in the United States or Canada.
- Students in any program or field of study may apply.
- Applicants may be at any year of study. Incoming freshmen may apply by submitting their college admission acceptance as proof of enrollment.
Scholarship Requirements
- One (1) essay of approximately 500 words.
- Essay prompt: How will you make your community a better place after graduation?
- Proof of current enrollment (or admission acceptance for incoming freshmen).
- The scholarship award is $1,000.00 and will be granted annually.
