Introduction
The Masonic Charity Foundation of New Jersey is now accepting applications for its 2026 scholarship program. These awards support students pursuing education at two‑year colleges, trade/technical schools, and four‑year colleges or universities.
Application and Deadline

- All completed applications must be postmarked by March 1, 2026
Eligibility Highlights
- Continued expanded eligibility: most scholarships now permit applicants who are the child, step‑child, niece, nephew, grandchild, or step‑grandchild of a living or deceased Master Mason in good standing.
- Specific scholarships have additional academic, program, or activity requirements described below.
- “Relative” is defined as the child, stepchild, niece, nephew, grandchild, or step‑grandchild of a living or deceased Master Mason in good standing in a Masonic Lodge of the Grand Lodge of New Jersey.
Scholarships (2‑Year College, Trade/Technical School, & 4‑Year College/University)
- Burk‑Townley Scholarship — $4,000
- Minimum $1,000 per year
- For graduating high school seniors
- Awards include one four‑year and at least one two‑year/trade school scholarship
- Applicant must be a child or grandchild of a New Jersey Mason
- Demonstrated financial need required
- Serewitch Family DeMolay Scholarship — $20,000
- Up to $5,000 per year for up to four years
- For graduating New Jersey high school seniors
- Minimum academic: C average (2.2) over the last two years; SAT 1200
- Applicant must be an active New Jersey DeMolay member
- Demonstrated financial need required
- Organized swimming activity participation required
- Sol & Reba Serewitch Scholarship — $5,000
- $5,000 for one academic year
- For graduating New Jersey high school seniors
- Minimum academic: C average (2.2) over the last two years; SAT 1300
- Applicant must be a relative of a New Jersey Mason
- Demonstrated financial need required
Scholarships (4‑Year College/University)
- Asbury Jordan Lodge Scholarship — $4,000
- $1,000 per year for four years
- For graduating high school seniors
- Minimum academic: B average (3.0) over the last two years; SAT 1400
- Relatives of New Jersey Masons are preferred
- Demonstrated financial need required
- Award given in honor of Christian Mogensen and John D. Post
- Chairman of the Board Scholarship — $10,000
- $2,500 per year for four years
- For graduating high school seniors (three awards available)
- Minimum academic: B average (3.0); SAT 1290 or ACT 27
- Applicant must be a relative of a New Jersey Mason
- John H. Critchley, Sr. & Emma F. Critchley Scholarship — $4,000
- $1,000 per year for four years
- For graduating high school seniors
- Must major in engineering or a related science
- Minimum academic: B average (3.0)
- Open only to unmarried sons or grandsons of a New Jersey Mason
- Culver DeMolay Scholarship — $4,000
- $1,000 per year for four years
- For graduating New Jersey high school seniors
- Minimum academic: B average (3.0) over the last two years; SAT 1090 or ACT 21
- Active DeMolay membership is preferred
- Patterson Engineering Scholarship — $16,000
- Minimum $4,000 per year for four years
- For graduating New Jersey high school seniors
- Must be an engineering major
- Minimum academic: C+ average (2.5) over the last two years
- Taylor Scholarship — $4,000
- $1,000 per year for four years
- For graduating high school seniors
- Applicant must be a relative of a New Jersey Mason
- Required service: up to 30 hours of community service at Masonic Village or another approved Masonic institution
Scholarships from The Grand Lodge of New Jersey
- William Mayer Memorial Scholarship (Undergraduate) — $4,000
- $2,000 per year for two years
- Two awards available for recent high school graduates
- Minimum academic: C+ average (2.5) over the last two years
- Applicant must be a relative of a New Jersey Mason
- Undergraduate application required
- William Mayer Memorial Scholarship (Graduate) — $4,000
- $2,000 per year for two years
- Two awards available for college graduates
- Minimum academic: B+ average (3.25) over the last two years
- Applicant must be a relative of a New Jersey Mason
- Graduate application required
